Art & Rot is a narrative short film about the rehabilitative potential of art, focusing on personal and familial accountability amidst public and professional scandal.
Since it was first conceptualized in October 2022, Art & Rot has been an ongoing collaboration between Wesley Willgrubs (Writer, Director, Editor) and Maclaine Lowery (Writer, Producer, Choreographer, Lead Cast). Featuring Steve Whiteford, with cinematography by Brian Molloy and an original score by Moraine Assembly.
Principal production wrapped in March 2026 in Austin, TX. Post-production is projected to continue through November 2026, with the goal of a December 2026/January 2027 premiere.
